TIMTAM

A short local shakeout trip with Janet and Taryn to try out the camper, see what worked, and find anything that needed attention before longer trips.

A first shakeout close to home.

TimTam was a short local trip with Janet and Taryn to try out the camper and find out what worked — and what didn't — before taking it farther from home.

The campground is small and tight, but that actually made it a useful place for a simple shakeout run. We spent the weekend settling into the camper, trying the everyday setup and seeing how everything worked in actual camping conditions.

We had fun around the campfire, including reading from the scary campfire story book. Coffee in the camper, boots by the door and evenings around the fire made this feel less like a destination trip and more like learning how the camper would work for us.

Everything went well. TimTam is close to home for both Janet and me and works well for a quick camper checkout. The campground is also popular with people visiting Great Adventure, although that wasn't part of our trip.
