ACADIA

Granite coastline, mountain trails and changing weather along the coast of Maine.

Weather, granite and the Atlantic.

Acadia feels defined by the meeting of land and water. Granite rises directly from the Atlantic, while fog, wind and changing light can transform the same coastline within minutes.

The photographs from this trip became less about documenting every stop and more about slowing down enough to notice those changes—the texture of the rock, the movement of the water and the brief moments when the light finally came together.

The road to Acadia.

The northbound route from home in New Jersey to the Acadia base in Lamoine, including the September 11 overnight stop in Hermon, Maine.
